Matthew Malario, a four-year lettermen in baseball, played for the Etta Express from 1987-90. He joins five teammates in the Hall of Fame including fellow 1990 graduate Scott Barber. Malario finished his senior season with a team-leading .457 batting average, a mark that still ranks among the best seasons in school history. He earned All-American honors in 1989 and 1990 and was a three-time All-Mideast Region and two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection. Malario was a member of three OAC Championship teams and the 1988 Mideast Regional champions that went on to finish third in the World Series. Malario was named the Most Valuable Player of the 1988 OAC Tournament. After serving as team captain in 1990, Malario finished his career ranked fifth all-time in runs scored.

Malario, who graduated with a degree in Finance, is currently the Business Development Officer of the commercial sales division for Stewart Title, the nation’s third largest title insurance company. He is also a PGA Professional at River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas. Previously, Malario served as the Director of Instruction at world renown Baltusrol Golf Club in Springfield, N.J. Malario has been nominated as one of GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 instructors in America five times. Malario currently lives in Katy, Texas with his wife Otilia and their two daughters, Julia, 12 and Diana, 10.
