Mark Boy, a four-year letterman in both football and track and field, was a member of the football team from 1975-78 and the track and field team from 1976-79. A two-time first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection, Boy graduated as the career leader in rushing attempts with 621 and his 2,786 career rushing yards ranked second on Marietta’s all-time list. He led the Pioneers in total offense in 1976 and 1978. Boy served as a team captain in 1978 as a senior. On the track, Boy did a little bit of everything. He ran the 55m dash, threw the shot put and was a member of the 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams.
Boy, who graduated with a degree in physical education, is retired after teaching science at Carlisle Local and Miamisburg City Schools. During his teaching career he coached football, wrestling and track and field. Currently a certified personal trainer, Boy won the masters division bench press competition at the Ohio State Fair this past summer. Boy lives in Franklin, Ohio, with his wife Terri. They have three children Chris ‘05, Kayla and Caleb. Chris played football for the Pioneers from 2001-02.
