Hall of Fame
Robinson, of Athens, Ohio, becomes only one of two women ever inducted into the MC Athletic Hall of Fame. Robinson helped garner attention for women's athletics at the College during a time when female sports weren't truly appreciated.
Robinson was able to bring respect to women's basketball because of natural athletic ability. She earned four letters in basketball and one in volleyball. Robinson was a co-captain for the Pioneer squad for three years. She had 895 points in 53 career games. She made an immediate impact her freshman season as the team enjoyed a rare winning season.
"The first year was so much fun because we all enjoyed winning," she said. "I just remember all the great times we had, even though we lost a lot of games to schools like Dayton and Ohio State."
Robinson came to Marietta from Hammond, La., where she was standout athlete on a basketball team that finished second in the state tourney twice. After graduation, she coached for four years before quitting to focus on teaching elementary school students with learning disabilities. "O really love teaching," she said. "I just kind of fell into what I'm doing now."
Robinson keeps in touch with her alma mater, since she's a regular at the annual alumni game. She has also remained in touch with athletics. She recently ran the Columbus Marathon, her third career marathon.
Robinson spends plenty of her spare time making jewelry out of stones.
