Bumbaugh, a 1972 graduate of Marietta College, earned two varsity letters in baseball. Bumbaugh, believed to be Marietta’s first All-American, was names to the ABCA/Worth All-American second team in 1972. En route to his All-American honors, he earned first team All-OAC and All-Mideast Region recognition as well.
Bumbaugh, MC’s center fielder, served as team captain during his senior season. He led the tem to an OAC championship and a fifth place finish in the NCAA Mideast Regional hitting a team-high .435. Bumbaugh was also a part of MC’s OAC championship teams in 1970 and 1971.
Bumbaugh and his wife Jan reside in Temecula, California, with their three children, Jerry Jr., Jamie, and Jennifer.
