Nachreiner, a two-time All-America infielder, donned the pinstripes from 1976-79. The four-year starter and letterman, earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honorable mention, All-Region first team and All-America second team honors as a freshman third baseman in 1976. Nachreiner was a repeat selection on both the All-OAC and All-Region lists as a sophomore and earned his third straight All-OAC honorable mention as junior. He capped off his senior season with All-OAC first team, All-Region first team and All-America second team honors.
During his time at Marietta, the Etta Express captured three OAC titles (1977-79) and two Mideast Regional crowns (1977-78). The Pioneers went on to finish fourth at the 1977 World Series and then took national runner-up honors in 1978.
Nachreiner graduated as the OAC’s all-time leader in games played (167), at-bats (554), hits (194) doubles (42) and total bases (279) while ranked fourth (second at Marietta) in runs batted in (109). He holds a share of the OAC’s single-game record for doubles (3), a feat he accomplished against Pfeiffer University in 1977.
Nachreiner is currently a National Sales Manager for SKC, Inc., where he won an Outstanding Sales Award in 1997, 2001, 2006, 2007 and 2008. He his wife Claudia live in Pittsburgh, Pa. They have two children, Eric and Rebecca.
