Arguably the best goalkeeper in program history, Bethany (Blahnik) Brennan earned four varsity letters in women’s soccer. She earned honorable mention All-OAC honors in her junior and senior seasons. Brennan was the OAC Clyde Lamb Award winner in 2005.
Brennan holds the Marietta College record for single season goals against average with a 0.62 GAA in 2005. Her 0.79n GAA in 2004 and 0.93 GAA in 2003 also rank among the best in program history. Brennan also holds the school records for career goals against average with a mark of 0.82 GAA, single season shutouts with 12 and career shutouts with 33.
During her four years in the Navy Blue and White, the Pioneers enjoyed the most successful run in program history going 11-7-1 in 2002, 12-7-1 in 2003, 12-6-0 in 2004, and 14-3-1 in 2005. The 14 wins in her senior season is the program record.
Brennan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marietta College in 2006 with a degree in Allied Health. She was a three-time Academic All-OAC selection and earned third team Academic All-America honors as a senior. Brennan went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toldeo. She is currently employed as a physical therapist with University Hospitals.
Brennan and her husband Joseph reside in Shaker Heights, Ohio with their children Ellie and AJ.
