James J. Tracy, a three-year letterman as an outfielder, played baseball for the Etta Express from 1976-79. During his career at Marietta, the Pioneers captured three Ohio Athletic Conference championships, advanced to the NCAA Mideast Regional four times winning twice, and placed fourth in the Division III World Series in 1977 and were runners-up in 1978. Tracy was named the OAC Jack Rafeld Player of the Year in 1977 to go along with first team all-conference, first team all-region and third team All-American honors. He would go on to earn All-OAC accolades three years in a row and was again named to the all-region team in 1979. Always a clutch player, Tracy was named to the Mideast Region All-Tournament team in 1977 and 1979. Tracy was a member of the M-Club and the Marietta College Athletic Founders Board, predecessors of the Pioneer Club. He is currently a member of the Marietta College Board of Trustees.
Tracy, who graduated with a degree in accounting and management major, is the Director of National Sales and Business Development for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. In addition, he currently serves as the Chairman of MMI (Managed Money Institute), the industry’s primary association. Tracy has been involved on many levels with the Special Olympics since 1992. Tracy lives in Powell, Ohio with his wife Joey. They have two children Lauren and J.J.
