Muller earned 12 varsity letters at Marietta College lettering all four years in cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. He finished his career as one of the most decorated distance runners in school history.

Muller was a three-time first team All-OAC performer in cross country. He won the OAC individual championship his junior and senior seasons and was named the OAC Male Runner of the Year in 2012 and OAC Clyde Lamb Award winner in 2013. Muller qualified for the NCAA Cross Country Championship each of his final three seasons and was named All-Great Lakes Region each of the seasons.

On the track, Muller earned All-OAC honors seven times for indoor and eight time for outdoor. He holds school indoor records in the mile run, 3000-meter run, 5000-meter run, 4x400-meter relay, and the distance medley relay. Outdoors, Muller holds records in the 5000-meter run, 10,000-meter run, and 4x800-meter relay. He qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship in the 10,000-meter run in 2012 and 2013.

Muller graduated from Marietta College in 2013 with a degree in Information Systems. He earned a Masters of Science degree in Information Technology from Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently employed as an IT Business Partner with the Burnet Institute.

Muller and his wife Liz reside in West, Australia with the child Levin. They are expecting their second child in 2025.
