Hall of Fame
Candice Miller, a four-year letter winner in softball, pitched for the Pioneers from 2001-04. She becomes the seventh softball player to join the Hall of Fame. One of the most dominate pitchers in the Ohio Athletic Conference, Miller was a two-time first team All-OAC honoree and ranked second in league history in career strikeouts. She was named All-Region following her sophomore season. Miller finished her career at Marietta ranked second on the school’s career lists for games pitched (95), complete games (64), wins (41), shutouts (19), innings pitched (541.6) and earned run average (1.69). She tossed her only career no-hitter in 2003, the same season she posted an outstanding 1.30 earned run average, the third best ERA in school history. Miller was named the Betty Cleland Award recipient in 2004.
Miller earned a degree in Marketing with minors in Finance and Psychology from Marietta and a degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University. She currently works as a drilling engineer for Newfield Exploration in Tulsa, Okla.
