Kennedy earned four varsity letters in baseball playing for legendary head coach Don Schaly. He earned first team All-Region and All-America honors his senior year. Kennedy set the Marietta College record for strikeouts in a game with 16 against John Carroll.

Kennedy would play a key role in two Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, four NCAA Regional titles and the 1981 and 1983 National Championships. The 1982 Etta Express placed third in the World Series, while the 1984 team was National Runner-up.

Kennedy earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Management from Marietta College in 1984. He has worked in various roles with MSSL Wiring System Inc. since graduating from Marietta. Kennedy is currently the Plant Manager. Kennedy and his wife Jackie have five children: Chris, Andy, Danielle, Katelyn and Tyler.
