Marietta College Athletics

Junior first baseman/pitcher Evan Brockmeier helped the No. 1 ranked Marietta College baseball team to a three-game sweep at Rhodes College (Tenn.) to open the 2012 season. Brockmeier started all three games at first base and went 8-for-14 on the weekend, a .571 batting average. He had a pair of doubles, seven runs batted in and two stolen bases. Brockmeier also pitched in two of the games throwing 2.2 scoreless innings without allowing a hit and collected a save.
