Men’s Rowing sophomore coxswain Chrissy Billingsley (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) piloted the varsity 8+ shell to the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference gold medal last week at Gifford Pinchot State Park. The varsity 8+ gold propelled Marietta to the overall MARC Men’s Championship. The Pioneers won their morning heat by nearly 13 seconds over second place George Mason. In the Grand Final, Marietta completed the 2,000-meter course in 6:09.4, three seconds ahead of Bucknell (6:12.6). Marietta’s varsity 8+ lineup included Billingsley, Angelo Leitner-Wise at stroke, Jack Gleim, Matthew Bush, William Hooper, Michael Shrader, Scott Cressman, Evan Odom and Ethan Schafhausen in the bow.
