Men’s Basketball junior forward Anthony Wallace (Wheeling, W.Va./The Linsly School) was named the season’s first OAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after helping the No. 13 ranked Pioneers extend their regular season home winning streak to 39 straight games with a pair of victories in the inaugural Great Lakes Invitational. Marietta drilled regional powerhouse Hope College, 102-71, in the season-opener and then won a thrilling, 85-83, overtime game against the University of St. Thomas (Minn.). Wallace earned All-Tournament honors after leading the Pioneers in scoring both nights. He sank 9-of-14 shots, including a pair three-pointers, and finished with 20 points against Hope. Wallace followed that with four three-pointers and 22 points versus St. Thomas.
