Football sophomore wide receiver Ryan Van Meter (Maysville, W.Va./Petersburg) helped lead the Pioneers to a 44-21 upset of No. 24-ranked Heidelberg. He caught five passes for 141 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown went for 69-yards as Van Meter broke away from the defense and went the distance for the score. Van Meter also had catches of 34 and 22 yards. The 22-yarder set up Marietta’s field goal as time ran out in the first half. For the season, Van Meter leads Marietta with 32 receptions for 404 yards. He is tied for second on the team with two touchdown catches.
