ADA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's tennis team saw its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Tuesday (May 2) afternoon. Ohio Northern advanced into the tournament semifinals for the 16th straight season with a 5-0 win over the Pioneers.
Marietta finishes the spring with a 3-18 overall record. The Polar Bears improve to 21-4 on the season.
Ohio Northern swept the doubles matches posting 8-0 wins at each of the three positions. At No. 1, Lynn Kelly and Ashley Ochsenhirt downed
Carey Becker (Cincinnati, Ohio/Walnut Hills) and
Erin Warvell (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock). Christina Corbean and Brittany Toney defeated
Mandee Young (Poca, W.Va./Poca) and
Spenser Jackson (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview Heights) at No. 2, while Mackenzie Wills and Katherine Curry beat
