MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's tennis team closed out the 2024 season with a 9-0 loss to Baldwin Wallace University Sunday (April 28) afternoon. The Pioneers end with an 0-8 overall record and 0-6 Ohio Athletic Conference mark. Baldwin Wallace moves to 2-12 overall and 1-5 in the OAC.
Playing short-handed, the Pioneers defaulted No. 3 doubles and Nos. 5 and 6 singles. BW swept the remaining six matches for the victory.
In the top doubles match, Colleen Andersen and Kierstyn Yates blanked
Ryah Haidar (Sylvania, Ohio/Sylvania Southview) and Sarah Wallenfalsz, 8-0.
Emily Comiskey (Shirley, N.Y./Longwood) and
Riley Hayes (Hazel Green, Ala./Hazel Green) fell at No. 2 to Olivia Koutouras and Emma Trost by the score of 8-1.
Yates took down Wallenfelsz at No. 1 singles, 6-0 and 6-0. At No. 2 Andersen defeated Hayes by the same score.
Koutouras was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Haidar at No. 3. Comiskey fell to Trost at No. 4, 6-2 and 6-0.
