GREENWOOD, Indiana – The Marietta College women's tennis team had two players named to 2023 Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators. Senior
Elizabeth Vigue (Lancaster, Ohio/Fisher Catholic) and graduate student
Isabela Paixao (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) were named and honored due to their academic efforts as well as their play on the court.
Vigue, a political science and economics major, earned a cumulative 3.884 GPA. She had a singles record of 4-9 in 2023 and ended the season with a straight sets victory over her opponent from Muskingum University. She also had a 4-9 record in doubles competition.
A physician assistant major, Paixao finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.769. She led the team with a singles record of 9-2 and also played well in doubles competition, collecting a 7-4 record. Her fine play during the season placed her on the All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on June 6.
