PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Marietta College women's tennis earned its third win of the season Thursday (April 7) when the Pioneers defeated Carlow University 9-0 in non-conference action. [

Marietta (3-6), began the match knowing it would have a 2-0 lead after Carlow took the court with only five players and had to forfeit both the third doubles and sixth singles point.
Kristina Reed (Grove City/Grove City) and
Caitlin Cornell (South Park, Pa./South Park) combined for an 8-3 win at first doubles to improve to 3-1 on the season.
Blakely Dye (Toledo/Sylvania Southview) and
Sarah Snow (Twentynine Palms, Calif./29 Palms) then picked up their first victory together at second doubles with an 8-1 win.
Reed collected a team-best sixth win of the year in singles play with a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the first spot. Cornell also won 6-4, 6-1 at second singles.
MacKenzie Boyles (Fairmont, W.Va./East) and
Christina Tirpak (Galena/Olentangy) both won 6-1, 6-0 at third and fifth singles, respectively, while
Sarah Campbell (Arnold, Md./Annapolis Senior) closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win at fourth singles.
