Williams, who was also named the Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week and to the D3Football.com Team of the Week, broke open a one possession game when he came through with the pick six at the 10:25 mark of the fourth quarter in the Pioneers' 28-7 victory over host Thiel College on Sept. 4. The Tomcat punter attempted a pass on a fake punt but threw one of his team's five interceptions, two of which were returned for fourth quarter touchdowns. Williams finished the game with a team-best nine total tackles, including two for loss.
