Junior setter Laura Mauer (Terre Haute, Ind./North) helped the Pioneer volleyball team to a 3-1 showing in the BSN River City Classic last weekend. In Marietta’s 3-0 win over Grove City, Mauer had a season-high 36 assists and 13 digs. For the week, she averaged 9.27 assists per set. Mauer added seven kills and seven blocks in the Classic in addition to a pair of service aces and 31 digs. So far this season, Mauer is averaging 8.38 assists, 2.96 digs and 0.50 blocks per set.
