Senior running back Lamar Hunter (South Euclid, Brush) helped carry the Marietta College football team to a 20-14, season-opening victory over visiting Thiel College on Saturday (Sept. 5). The Pioneers won their first game of the season for the 14th time in the last 16 years.

Hunter ran for a game-high 90 yards on 23 carries against the Tomcats. He also caught three passes for a team-best 52 yards. One of those grabs, an 18-yard catch, produced Marietta's first touchdown on its opening drive of the game.
