Football senior linebacker Cody Rice (Orrville/Orrville) capped his playing career by being named the OAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording 20 tackles in the Pioneers’ hard-fought 56-42 loss to Capital. Rice closed out his career in grand fashion making three solo stops and recording 17 assisted tackles. For the season, Rice finished with 83 total tackles, second best on the team. He ranked eighth in the OAC averaging 8.3 tackles per game. His 52 assisted tackles tied for the team lead. In addition, Rice finished with 2.5 sacks and one interception.
