2009: Matt held down the starting job in left field and earned his first varsity letter as a junior in 2009. DeSico ranked third on the team with 49 hits, which included 13 doubles and three home runs. He added 25 runs scored and 29 RBI in 46 games. DeSico had 10 multiple-hit and six multiple-RBI games last season. He tied a school record with three doubles against Baldwin-Wallace, a game in which he posted a career-best four hits and five RBI.

2008: DeSico started 12 games in the outfield and two more as the designated hitter as a sophomore in 2008. DeSico finished the year 21-for-57 (.368) at the plate with four doubles, one triple, two home runs, 10 runs scored and 15 RBI. He had five multiple-hit games, including a three-hit performance against Bethany (W.Va.) and another against Heidelberg in the OAC title game. DeSico hit a home run and drove in a career-high four runs against Washington & Jefferson (Pa.).

2007: DeSico appeared as a pinch hitter in one game at the varsity level and was 0-for-1 as a freshman in 2007.

Coach Brewer says: “Matt continues to improve every year. He provides us with a valuable left-handed bat that can hit in the middle of the order. We expect Matt to have a great final season in the pinstripes.”
