Biography

2010: Earned his second varsity letter as a junior pitcher…Made 20 appearances and eight starts…Finished 6-4 with a save, two shutouts, three complete games, 64 strikeouts and a 4.27 ERA in 65 1/3 innings…Struck out a career-high nine in a five-inning start against Ohio Northern.

2009: Earned his first varsity letter as a sophomore relief pitcher…Went 5-2 with one save in 16 outings…Fanned a team-best 56 and posted a 5.80 ERA in 49 2/3 innings…Struck out a season-high seven in three innings against Blackburn and matched the effort in a four-inning stint against Ohio Northern.

2008: Took the mound in six varsity games as a freshman…Made two starts, struck out 14 and posted a 9.19 ERA in 15 2/3 innings…Had a season-high five strikeouts in a six-inning start against Ohio Dominican.

Coach Brewer says: “Mark has improved every year. He is in the best shape of his life, and we believe he is prepared to have a breakout senior season. Look for Mark to be a key cog in our pitching staff in 2011.”
