WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Marietta College freshman
Aidan Houghton (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) was recognized for his outstanding season, earning a spot on the Ohio All-Athletic Conference Men's Golf team announced Thursday (April 30) morning. Houghton was named honorable mention following a strong overall season and an impressive performance at the OAC Championship.
"Aidan really played well in the OAC tournament," praised Marietta head men's and women's golf coach
John Badgley. "He was very consistent all three days and this earned him a spot on the all-tournament team. During the end of the spring season Aidan also played very well in the Grove City Invitational finishing tied for first among our team. Congratulations to Aidan on a job well done."
At the OAC Championships, Houghton fired rounds of 71, 74, and 73. His final score was two strokes above par, securing a three-way tie for third place in the event.
Throughout the year, Houghton competed in nine events for the Pioneers, maintaining a 77-stroke average over 16 rounds. He recorded four top-10 and three top-5 finishes, with his best result being a third-place tie at both the Franciscan Fall Invitational in October, where he shot a one-stroke over par 73, and the OAC Championship.
