WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team couldn't replicate yesterday's record setting performance and slipped to fourth place Saturday (Apr. 25) at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. The Pioneers will look to bounce back in the final round on Sunday.
Ohio Northern was even par in the second round and is now in first place with a two-day total of 579, three-over-par. Otterbein is currently second with a score of 586, followed by Mount Union (587), Marietta (589), Capital (611), Heidelberg (617), Muskingum (618), and Baldwin Wallace (626).
Otterbein's Clay Bruning fired a two-under-par, 70, to take over the individual lead. After a round of par on Friday, Bruning sits two under heading into the final round.
Aidan Houghton (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) is tied for third with a two-round score of 145, one-over par.
Jeremiah Fizer (Chesapeake, Ohio/Fairland) is tied for sixth with a two-over-par score of 146.
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) has a score of 150, good for a tie of seventeenth.
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) is one shot behind McCurdy at 151 and is tied for 21st.
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) shaved six strokes off his first round score and sits at 156 after two rounds.
The third and final round tees off at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday (Apr. 26).
