DELAWARE, Ohio — The Marietta College track and field team competed in the Ohio Wesleyan Tune-Up Meet Friday (Feb. 20) evening. The unscored meet is the Pioneers' final preparations before the upcoming Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships.

Three Pioneers won events. Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) took first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.31. Kileah Lieras-Kelley (Belpre, Ohio/) won the high jump clearing a height of 1.50 meters (4' 11"). For the men, Cael McCutcheon (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) won the pole vault with a height of 4.20 meters (13' 9.25").

Cade Miracle (Galion, Ohio/Northmor) was second in the pole vault behind McCutcheon with a height of 4.05 meters (13' 3.5"). Cooper Warren (Logan, Ohio/Logan) was third clearing 3.90 meters (12' 9.5"). Marietta's women pole vaulters placed third and fourth. Eden Tepe (Oregonia, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) was third with a height of 3.25 meters (10' 8"), while Kyndal Buchanan (Lower Salem, Ohio/Fort Frye) was fourth with a personal record height of 3.10 meters (10' 2").

Kallen Wilson (Logan, Ohio/Logan) turned in a second place showing in the men's shot put with a personal best mark of 14.13 meters (46' 4.25").

Other third place finishes included Lillian Franchino (Waterford, Ohio/Waterford) in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:07.90; Zavier Lindsay (Columbus, Ohio/Gahanna Lincoln) in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 23.09 seconds; Andrew Franchini (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) in the weight throw with a mark of 15.07 meters (49' 5.5"); and Leo Grandizio (Garrettsville, Ohio/Garfield) in the triple jump with a personal record leap of 11.19 meters (36' 8.5").


Tepe also set a personal record in the 200-meter with a time of 29.05 seconds. Lindsay posted a new personal best in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.20 seconds. Emily Comiskey (Shirley, N.Y./Longwood) notched a pair of personal records in the shot put with a mark of 6.58 meters (21' 7.25") and the weight throw with a distance of 7.58 meters (24' 10.5"). 

For the Pioneer men, Justin Marcum set personal records in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.64 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 5.84 meters (19' 2"). Gunner Fertig (Eleanor, W.Va./Buffalo) placed fifth in the high jump with a personal best height of 1.85 meters (6' 0.75"). Hunter Wick (Seymour, Ind./Seymour) set a personal record in the mile run with a time of 5:56.09.

Up next for the Pioneers is the OAC Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday (Feb. 27-28) at Heidelberg University.
