Four Pioneers placed on Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District team

GREENWOOD, Indiana – Marietta College had four athletes placed on the 2026 Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators.  Seniors Ryan House (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn) and Cael McCutcheon (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) and sophomores Gunner Fertig (Eleanor, W.Va./Buffalo) and Cooper Warren (Logan, Ohio/Logan) were named and for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.

House, a health science major, earned a cumulative 3.65 GPA.  He was one of Marietta's top throwers in 2026.  He placed first at the Bill Kinkade Invitational with a personal best javelin throw of 48.43m (158' 11") and posted his personal record discus throw of 37.74m (123' 10") at the Cherry Blossom Invitational back in April.

An entrepreneurship major, McCutcheon finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.71.  His personal best triple jump of 12.26m (40' 2.75") got him first place at the Amy Adams Invitational.  He also got first place in the pole vault with a height of 4.30m (14' 1.25") at the Bill Kinkade Invitational back in April.

Fertig, a land and energy management major, earned a cumulative 3.64 GPA.  He was involved in both running and field events, getting many personal bests during the season.  He registered a personal best time of 8.99 in the 60-meter hurdles at the Division III All-Ohio Indoor Championships back in February.  His long jump of 6.15m (20' 2.25") was good enough for third place at the Cherry Blossom Invitational.

Warren, a mathematics education major, finished with a cumulative GPA of 3.71.  He participated on both the track and field and cross country squads.  He gained a personal best in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.46 at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge.  In the fall, he posted his best time of 31:29.0 in the Royals Cross Country 8k Challenge.
