DELAWARE, Ohio — The Marietta College men's and women's track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Championships Friday and Saturday (Apr. 10-11) on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University. The Pioneer women placed twelfth, while the men finished fourteenth.
Ohio Wesleyan won the women's team title with 173.75 total points, Baldwin Wallace finished second with 103 points, followed by Case Western (95.5 points), Otterbein (92), Ohio Northern (75), Wilmington (65), Capital (50.75), Kenyon (34), Oberlin (24), Wooster (16), Mount St. Joseph (16), Marietta (13), Muskingum (12), and Heidelberg (9).
Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) led the Marietta women with a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash. Hieronymus crossed the line in a personal record time of 58.91 seconds.
Marietta's other team points came from the field events.
Kileah Lieras-Kelley (Belpre, Ohio/) tied for fourth place in the high jump with a height of 1.48 meters (4' 10.25").
Eden Tepe (Oregonia, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame) cleared 3.40 meters (11' 1.75") to tie for sixth in the pole vault, while
Lillian Franchino (Waterford, Ohio/Waterford) placed eighth in the long jump with a leap of 4.60 meters (15' 1.25").
Franchino dis set a personal record in the meet. Franchino posted a time of 1:05.83 in the 400-meter dash.
Baldwin Wallace took home the men's team title accumulating 151.5 total points. Otterbein placed second with 99 points, followed by Ohio Wesleyan (79 points), Case Western (72), Capital (71), Wilmington (61), Ohio Northern (60), Oberlin (54), Heidelberg (36), Muskingum (25), Wooster (24), Kenyon (22), Mount St. Joseph (14), and Marietta (7.5).
Andrew Franchini (Lancaster, Ohio/Lancaster) turned in Marietta's best finish with a fifth place showing in the hammer throw. Franchini posted a personal record mark of 48.63 meters (159' 6").
Cael McCutcheon (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) scored in two events. He tied for eighth in the pole vault with a height of 4.10 meters (13' 5.25") and finished eighth in the javelin with a personal record mark of 41.42 meters (135' 11").
The Pioneers' other points came from
Ryan House (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn). House placed seventh in the javelin with a heave of 42.19 meters (138' 5").
Six other Pioneers set personal records in the meet.
Isaiah Creditt-Commodore (Xenia, Ohio/Xenia) posted a time of 22.47 seconds in the 200-meter dash;
Matthew Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) crossed the line in 1:00.79 in the 400-meter hurdles;
Ryan Bertolino (Marlton, N.J./Paul VI) had a time of 4:17.19 in the 1500-meter run;
Kevin Hernandez (Plymouth, Ohio/Willard) and
Hunter Uptain (Millersburg, Ohio/West Holmes) in the 10,000-meter run with times of 33:50.47 and 34:53.67, respectively; and
Kallen Wilson (Logan, Ohio/Logan) with a distance of 45.20 meters (148' 3") in the hammer throw.
Marietta is back in action at the Otterbein Twilight Meet on Friday (Apr. 17).
