Men's Golf ties for fifth at JCU Donald Ross Invitational

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team tied for fifth place at the Donald Ross Invitational hosted by John Carroll University Sunday and Monday (Sept. 21-22). The first round was played at Manakiki Golf Course, while the final round was played at the Shaker Heights Country Club.
 
Otterbein won the team title with a two-day total of 587. John Carroll placed second with a total score of 598, followed by Denison (610), Wabash (613), Marietta (614), John Carroll "B" (614), Ohio Wesleyan (617), and Randolph-Macon (639).
 
Otterbein's Jake Morgan won medalist honors with a two-under-par 141, five strokes ahead of the runner-up. Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) was Marietta's top finisher with a score of 151 earning a tie for eighth place.
 
Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) carded a 154 finishing tied for 23rd. Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) and Jeremiah Fizer (Chesapeake, Ohio/Fairland) tied for 27th with a two-round score of 157. Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) shot a score of 160 placing 36th.
 
Marietta will play in the Franciscan Fall Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 27) at the Steubenville Country Club.
