DOVER, Ohio — The Marietta College men's golf team sits in fourth place after the first day of the Wooster Gatorade Collegiate Saturday (Aug. 30) evening. The Pioneers carded a team score of 301 on the par-72 Zoar Golf Club Course.
Wooster's B team is leading after the first day with a score of 293. Mount Union and Wooster A are tied for second at 295, followed by Marietta (301), John Carroll (302), Capital (304), Saint Vincent (304), Mount Aloysius (306), Ohio Wesleyan (308), Hiram (318), and Kent State Tuscarawas (328).
Marietta's
Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) and Wooster's Max Schulman are tied atop the leaderboard with a 3-under-par 69 in the first round.
The remainder of the Pioneer lineup includes
Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest)m in a tie for 21st place with a score of 76.
Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) shot a 77 and is tied for 28th.
Aidan Houghton (Tolland, Conn./Tolland) is tied for 79th with a round of 79, while
Carson Moore (Belpre, Ohio/Belpre) is tied for 49th with an 80.
The tournament will conclude with another round on Sunday (Aug. 31). The Pioneers tee off at 12:50 p.m.
