GENEVA, Ohio — Marietta College junior pole vaulter Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) closed out the 2025 outdoor track season at the NCAA Division III Championships Thursday (May 22) afternoon. Thompson placed 20th in the event.
 
Thompson was making her third appearance at the NCAA Championships having competed in the 2023 Outdoor and 2025 Indoor championships. She placed 10th in 2023 and was 16th at this year's indoor championship.
 
The reigning Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor pole vault champion, Thompson cleared the opening height of 3.60 meters (11' 9.75") on her second attempt. Her season came to end after three misses on the second height of 3.75 meters (12' 3.5").
