GROVE CITY, Pennsylvania — The Marietta College men's golf team placed fourth at the Grove City MBA Invitational Thursday (Mar. 27) afternoon at the Grove City Country Club. The Pioneers posted a 19-over-par team score of 307 on the par-72, 6749-yard course.
 
Westminster took home the team title with a score of 303. Grove City and Pitt-Greensburg tied for second with identical scores of 306. Marietta was one stroke behind at 307, followed by Marietta (307), Saint Vincent (312), Westminster B (312), Saint Vincent B (322), Grove City B (326), Bethany (330), Thiel (334), Geneva (336), Grove City C (339), Waynesburg (339), and Carlow (382).
 
There was a three-way tie at 1-over-par, 71, for the medalist honors. Grove City's Luke Gronbeck won the honor on the scorecard tie breaker. Marietta's Kelson McCurdy (Beverly, Ohio/Fort Frye) and Zach Huscusson (Clinton, Ohio/Northwest) were the other two tied atop the leaderboard.
 
The remainder of Marietta's lineup included Jaekob Conard (Mansfield, Ohio/Madison Comprehensive) who finished tied for 15th with a round of 77. Andrew Korner (Mission Viejo, Calif./Capistrano Valley) fired a 78 and tied for 20th. Hunter Wilson (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon Area) finished tied for 24th with a 79. Mason Reville (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) tied for 35th with a score of 81.
 
Marietta is back in action this Sunday and Monday (Mar. 30-31) at the Muskingum Invitational being played at Eaglesticks Golf Club in Zanesville.
