ASHLAND, Ohio — The Marietta College track and field team wrapped up its final preparations for next week's Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships at the Ashland University Alumni Open Friday and Saturday (April 28-29).
Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) recorded the Pioneers' lone event win taking top honors in the triple jump. Fehrman's winning leap covered 11.02 meters (36'1.75"). She also placed sixth in the long jump with a personal record distance of 5.11 meters (16'9.25").
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) turned in a pair of top-10 finishes. Huffman placed second in the discus with a throw of 39.86 meters (130'9") and placed sixth in the elite division of the women's hammer throw. Huffman's hammer mark was 49.79 meters (163'4").
Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) cleared 3.58 meters (11'9") to finish seventh in the pole vault.
Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) was ninth in the 400-meter dash with a personal record time of 1:01.27.
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) led the Pioneer men with three top-five finishes. Painter placed second in the triple jump with a mark of 12.90 meters (42'3.75"). He was third in the long jump with a distance of 6.90 meters (22'7.75"), and was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 48.79 meters (160'1").
Jake Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) turned in a fourth-place finish in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 52.68 meters (172'10").
Aaron Rohr (Mogadore, Ohio/Field) was fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase crossing the line in 11:07.25.
The Pioneers are back in action on Thursday and Friday (May 4-5) at the OAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Mount Union.
