WEST LIBERTY, West Virginia — The Marietta College men's and women's track and field teams competed in the West Liberty Tim Weaver Invitational Saturday (April 1) afternoon. Poor weather conditions caused the meet to be stopped after a handful of events has been contested.
Jake Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) recorded the lone event win for the Pioneers taking top honors in the men's hammer throw. Priest's winning throw covered 48.93 meters (160'6").
Reese Worship (Euclid, Ohio/Euclid) placed sixth in the hammer with a personal record heave of 39.30 meters (128'11").
The Marietta College pole vault crew had another strong performance.
Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) placed second on the women's side with a personal record height of 3.70 meters (12'1.5").
Alison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) cleared 3.40 meters (11'1.75") to place fourth.
Cael McCutcheon (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) was sixth on the men's side with a personal record mark of 3.85 meters (12'7.5"), while
Luke Watt (Rayland, Ohio/St. Clairsville) tied for seventh clearing the same height.
Aaron Rohr (Mogadore, Ohio/Field) turned in a fifth-place finish in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase. He crossed the line in 11:49.46.
Isabelle Poling (Lancaster, Ohio/Bloom Carroll) and
Mackenzie Moran (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) placed ninth and tenth, respectively, in the women's 1,5000-meter run. Poling finished in 5:46.40, while Moran posted a time of 5:50.14.
Three Pioneers placed in the women's javelin.
McKenna Hewitt (Daisytown, Pa./California Area) placed fourth with a personal record mark of 30.53 meters (100'2").
Elizabeth Schnegg (Clarington, Ohio/St. John Central) was sixth with a personal record distance of 27.92 meters (91'7"), while
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) was seventh with a distance of 26.95 meters (88'5").
Ryan House (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn) was fourth in the men's javelin with a personal record throw of 35.87 meters (117'8").
Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) turned in a ninth-place performance in the women's long jump with a leap of 4.73 meters (15'6.25").
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) had the third best qualifying time in the 110-meter hurdle prelims crossing the line in 16.38 seconds. The finals were not run.
Marietta will be back in action this Thursday and Friday (April 6-7) in the Muskie Invite and All-Ohio Multi.
