NEW CONCORD, Ohio — The Marietta College Track and Field team finished competing in the Amy Adams Memorial Invitational Saturday (March 25) afternoon on the campus of Muskingum University. The Pioneer men finished fifth, while the women were seventh.
Walsh won the men's team title with 177.5 points. John Carroll was second with 111 points, followed by Otterbein (103 points), Baldwin Wallace (75), Marietta (73), Ohio Wesleyan (65), Muskingum (58.5), and Mount Union (14).
Walsh also took home the women's team title earning 163 total points. Ohio Wesleyan posted 117.5 points to finish second, followed by John Carroll (100.5 points), Baldwin Wallace (91), Otterbein (83), Muskingum (59), Marietta (37), Cuyahoga CC (15), Mount Union (6), and Thiel (1).
Marietta claimed three event wins on Saturday including the men's 800-meter run, men's 110-meter hurdles and men's triple jump.
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) won the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.62 in the finals. He set a new personal record in the prelims with a time of 15.51 seconds. Painter also won the triple jump with a mark of 13.57 meters (44'6.25") and placed second in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters (21'8.25").
Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) won the 800m run crossing the line in 1:58.31.
Elijah Kuklica (New Concord, Ohio/John Glenn) set a pair of personal records. He placed seventh in the 100-meter dash breaking the tape in 11.55 seconds. He set a new personal best in the prelims with a time of 11.13 seconds. Kuklica also placed fifth in the 200-meter dash with a personal record time of 23.12 seconds.
Aaron Rohr (Mogadore, Ohio/Field) posted a time of 11:59.61 to place second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Pole vaulters
Luke Watt (Rayland, Ohio/St. Clairsville) and
Cael McCutcheon (Point Pleasant, W.Va./Point Pleasant) placed fourth and seventh, respectively. Watt cleared 4.00 meters (13'1.5"0 and McCutcheon cleared 3.55 meters (11'7.75").
Gavin Cayton (McDermott, Ohio/Portsmouth Clay) placed fifth in the high jump with a height of 1.65 meters (5'5") and
Beau Priest (Dresden, Ohio/Tri-valley) was eighth in the shot put with a mark of 13.10 meters (42'11.75").
Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) led the Pioneer women on Saturday with a second-place finish. Thompson cleared 3.67 meters (12'0.5").
Alison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) placed fifth with a height of 3.07 meters (10'0.75").
Cali Barnes-Pierotti (Gallipolis, Ohio/Gallia Academy) recorded a fifth place showing in the triple jump with a mark of 9.31 meters (30'6.5") and was eighth in the long jump with a leap of 4.05 meters (13'3.5").
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) turned in a fourth place performance in the discus throw with a distance of 38.40 meters (126'0"), while
Michaela Hieronymus (Letart, W.Va./Wahama) was sixth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:04.65.
Marietta will compete in the Tim Weaver Invitational hosted by West Liberty University next Saturday (April 1).
