ASHLAND, Ohio — Marietta College senior
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) finished fourth in the men's heptathlon Saturday (Feb. 4) at the Ashland University Jud Logan Light Giver Collegiate Open track meet.
Painter finished with 4,583 total points breaking the Marietta College record in the event. The old record was 4,367 points by Jason Hoskins in December of 2012.
Findlay's Keandre Marlow won with 4,999 points. Ashland's Wyatt Cory placed second with 4,856 points, followed Capital's Andy Fulmer (4,700 points), Painter (4,583), and Hillsdale's John Baldwin (4,564).
The first event on Saturday was the 60-meter hurdles. Painter crossed the line in a new personal record time of 8.50 seconds to place second.
Painter placed sixth in each of the last two events. He cleared 3.30 meters (10'10") in the pole vault and then posted a personal record time of 3:10.04 in the 1,000-meter run.
