SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Marietta College competed in the All-Ohio D3 Collegiate Championships hosted by the Wittenberg University Saturday (Feb. 11) afternoon. The Pioneer women finished eighth, while the men were tenth overall.
Mount Union women the women's team title with 145.5 points. Wittenberg was second with 110 points, followed by Case Western (80 points), Oberlin (62.5), Ohio Wesleyan (48.5), Wooster (47), Denison (46), Marietta (29), Muskingum (25.5), Wilmington (21), Kenyon (16), Heidelberg (15), and Defiance (14).
Emily Thompson (St. Clairsville, Ohio/St. Clairsville) claimed the only event win for the Pioneer women. She cleared 3.67 meters (12'0.5") to win the women's pole vault.
Alison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) placed fifth in the pole vault with a height of 3.27 meters (10'8.75").
Emma Fehrman (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) turned in a trio of top-10 finishes. Fehrman placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 10.62 meters (34'10"). Her distance of 4.76 meters (15'7.5") was good for ninth place in the long jump. Fehrman also place sixth in the 200-meter dash with a personal record time of 27.18 seconds.
Isabelle Poling (Lancaster, Ohio/Bloom Carroll) set a new personal record in the 5,000-meter run. Poling placed sixth with a time of 20:08.95.
Cali Barnes-Pierotti (Gallipolis, Ohio/Gallia Academy) record a distance of 9.25 meters (30'4.25") to place eighth in the triple jump, while
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) was tenth in the weight throw with a mark of 13.38 meters (43'11").
Mount Union claimed the men's overall title with 226.5 points. Wooster scored 74 points to finish second, followed by Denison (57 points), Wilmington (53), Case Western (50.5), Wittenberg (45), Oberlin (39), Muskingum (31), Heidelberg (29), Marietta (22), Mount St. Joseph (10), Kenyon (10), Ohio Wesleyan (10), and Defiance (4).
Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) was the lone event winner for the Pioneer men. Wilson crossed the line in 1:55.07 to win the 800-meter run. He also ran the anchor leg on Marietta's 4x400-meter relay. The Pioneers placed seventh with a time of 3:29.46.
Elijah Kuklica () ran the lead leg, followed by
Evan Kieffer (Cheswick, Pa./Fox Chapel Area),
Xavier Lamneck (Coshocton, Ohio/), and Wilson.
Addison Painter (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion) took second place in the long jump with a mark of 6.94 meters (22'9.5"). He also placed eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.73 meters (41'9.25").
Jake Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) had an eighth place showing in the weight throw with a mark of 15.09 meters (49'6"), while
Beau Priest (Dresden, Ohio/Tri-valley) was ninth in the shot put with a heave of 13.42 meters (44'0.25").
Marietta travels to the University of Mount Union for the Raider Tune Up next Saturday (Feb. 18).
