Huffman and Kobuszewski earn All-OAC honors at OAC Championship

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Marietta College track and field team competed in the first day of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship on Thursday (May 6) afternoon.  The women are currently in 6th place with 18.33 points.  

Head Coach Jason Davis said, "We had some good things happen today.  Brooke and Kaitlin were our highlights, with both of them earning their first career All-Conference honors.  We are hoping for some big things on day two."

The Pioneer women were led by Kaitlin Kobuszewski (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) as she tallied a second-place finish in the women's javelin when she cleared a distance of 31.59 meters.  Her throw of 31.59 meters earned her All-OAC honors.    

Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) added to the performance in the women's discus.  She took home third place honors with a throw of 41.17 meters.  Her throw of 41.17 meters set a school record, and earned her All-OAC honors.  

Allison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) notched a fifth-place finish in the women's pole vault when she cleared a height of 3.23 meters.  Alexis Pennell (East Canton, Ohio/East Canton) rounded out the pole vault performance when she cleared a height of 3.08 meters, to earn eighth place honors.  

Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) won his heat in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.71 seconds.  Dimon also won his heat in the 400-meter hurdles, with a time of 54.82 seconds.  Dimon advanced to the finals of the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles tomorrow.

Marietta will return to the track Friday (May 7) when they wrap up their competition at the OAC Championship.
