5/28/2021 3:19:00 PM

WINSTON SALEM, N.C. – Laura Pullins (Long Bottom, Ohio/Reedsville Eastern) and Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) competed at the second day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

"Today was a mixed bag.  Alex's run in the prelims was great.  Going into the finals as the top seed is thrilling," said Head Coach Jason Davis.  "Laura had a great career as a Pioneer, and we are sad to see her go.  She will leave as one of the most decorated athletes in Marietta College Track and Field history."

Pullins was in action to open the day in the women's high jump.  Laura cleared the first height of the day at 1.56 meters (5'1.25").  Pullins cleared the second height of the event at 1.61 meters (5'3.25") on her second attempt.  Laura could not get over the bar successfully at 1.64 meters (5'4.50"), and Pullins earned 16th place in the high jump.

Pullins compiled a decorated career in the women's high jump.  Pullins is a two-time NCAA Division III runner up, a three time All-American, a five-time OAC Champion, and is the school record holder in both the indoor and outdoor high jump.

Dimon won his heat in the 110-meter hurdles, with a time of 14 seconds flat.  Dimon cruised to a win in his heat by half of a second.  Dimon's time of 14 seconds flat set a school record in the 110-meter hurdles, and advances him to the finals of the event.

Alex will return to the track Saturday (May 29) when he runs in the 110-meter hurdle finals, with the race scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
