5/25/2021 5:01:00 PM

MARIETTA, Ohio – Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) and Laura Pullins (Long Bottom, Ohio/Reedsville Eastern) will travel to North Carolina to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship.  The NCAA Championship is a three day event beginning Thursday (May 27) and running through Saturday (May 29).

Dimon is making his fifth appearance at the NCAA Championship meet.  He has qualified in both the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meters hurdles.  The hurdler has the second fastest time in Division III in the 110-hurdles with a time of 14.18 seconds.  In the 400-hurdles, Dimon posted a time of 53.11 seconds, which is seventh in Division III.

Head Coach Jason Davis said, "Alex has had a wonderful career at Marietta.  I would love to see him cap it off in a big way.  He has a tough double ahead of him, but he has the ability and maturity to handle it."

Pullins is also making her fifth appearance at the NCAA Championship meet.  The two-time national runner-up in the women's high jump currently sits in a tie for sixth best in Division III, with a mark of 1.71 meters (5'7.25").  Pullins height of 1.71 meters tied her own school record in the women's high jump.

"Laura is one of the hardest working athletes I have had the honor of coaching.  We push each other to get better, and she pushes me to be a better coach every day.  She is a verteran at the NCAA meet, and I'm hoping for some big jumps this weekend," concluded Coach Davis.

Dimon will run in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles on Thursday (May 27) at 4:40 p.m.  Both Dimon and Pullins will be in action Friday (May 28), Pullins will compete in the high jump at 11:30 a.m., and Dimon will run the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles at 2:30 pm.
