TIFFIN, Ohio – The Marietta College track and field team competed in the Greg Tyson Invitational hosted by Heidelberg University, on Saturday (April 10) afternoon. The women placed fourth with 106 points, and the men placed fifth with 52 points.
"We had some great things happen today. We are rounding into form as we come into the final weeks of the season," said Head Coach

Laura Pullins (Long Bottom, Ohio/Reedsville Eastern) tallied an event win in the women's high jump. She earned the win when she cleared a height of 1.65 meters.
Fredley Tynan (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) notched an event win the women's 5,000-meter race. She won the event when she broke the tape in a time of 22:42.32 minutes.
Allison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) secured the third event for the Marietta women in the pole vault. Loase earned the win, when she cleared a height of 3.45 meters.
Alexis Pennell (East Canton, Ohio/East Canton) added a third-place finish to the pole vault performance when she cleared a height of 3.25 meters.
Kasey Neville (Belington, W.Va./Philip Barbour) won the fourth event for Marietta in the women's shot put. Neville won the event with a throw of 12.56 meters.
Annie Priest (Frazeysburg, Ohio/Tri-Valley) took home fifth place in the shot put, with a throw of 11.49 meters.
Kaitlin Kobuszewski (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) took home second place honors in the women's 200-meter dash when she crossed the line in a time of 27.56 seconds. Kobuszewski took home her second, second place finish in the javelin, when she threw a distance of 30.50 meters. Kobuszewski earned third in the women's 100-meter dash, she finished in a time of 13.42 seconds. Kobuszewski rounded out her day with a fifth-place finish in the women's long jump, when she cleared a distance of 4.67 meters.
Priest and Neville added to their days in the women's hammer throw, the duo finished third and fourth respectively, with throws of 41.88 meters and 41.70 meters.
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) finished directly behind her teammates in fifth place, when she cleared a distance of 41.37 meters.
Gracie Yates (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City) pitched in with a third-place finish in the women's triple jump, when she jumped a distance of 9.42 meters. Yates capped her day with a sixth-place finish in the long jump, she jumped a distance of 4.15 meters.
Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge) grabbed an event win for the men in the 110-meter hurdles. Dimon won the race in a time of 14.74 seconds. Dimon notched his second event win of the day in the men's 400-meter hurdles. Dimon broke the tape in a time of 54 seconds flat.
The men's 4x400 meter relay team of
Tyler Walker (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn),
Evan Kieffer (Cheswick, Pa. /Fox Chapel Area),
Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster), and Dimon took home first place honors, when they won the relay in a time of 3:24.71 minutes. Dimon anchored the relay, and overcame a large deficit to earn the win.
Wilson notched a fourth-place finish in the men's 1,500 meters race, with a time of 4:06.79 minutes.
Walker took home fourth in the 400-meter race in a time of 52.56 seconds. Kieffer rounded out the 400-meter performance with a time of 53.06 seconds, to earn to sixth place.
AJ Sallee (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) notched a fourth-place finish in the men's 200-meter dash, in a time of 22.70. Salle capped his day with a fifth-place finish in the men's 100-meter dash, when he crossed the line in a time of 11.29 seconds.
Luke Wallace (Columbus, Ohio/Grandview Heights) rounded out the Marietta men's performance when he cleared a height of 1.60 meters in the high jump, to earn sixth place honors.
Marietta. will return to the track Saturday (April 17) when they compete in the OAC Elite Meet hosted by Otterbein University.
