WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Marietta College men's track and field team competed at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday (March 6) afternoon. The men finished in sixth place with 29 points.
"We finished one spot better than last year. I am pretty impressed with this group of men," said Head Coach
Jason Davis. "We had very slow start and our 4x200 relay really sparked something for us. It is great to be moving up in the standings."
The men were led by
Alex Dimon (Perkasie, Pa./Pennridge), he notched a second-place finish in the men's 60-meter hurdles, in a time of 8.39 seconds. His second-place finish earned him All-OAC honors.
The men's 4x200 meter relay team of
AJ Sallee (Columbus, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales),
Tyler Walker (Cambridge, Ohio/John Glenn),
Evan Kieffer (Cheswick, Pa. /Fox Chapel Area), and Dimon turned in a time of 1:33.49 minutes, to earned second place honors. The 4x200 meter. The relay team earned All-OAC honors.
Dimon added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash, when he crossed the line in a time of 22.34 seconds. Dimon's time of 22.34 seconds is a school record for the men's indoor 200-meter dash.
The 4x400 meter relay team of Salle, Walker,
Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster), and Dimon brought home a fourth-place finish, when they crossed the line in a time of 3:32.45 minutes.
Walker added a sixth-place finish in the 500-meter dash, when he crossed the line in a time of 1:08.57 minutes.
Marietta will return to the track Saturday (March 20) when they open the outdoor season.
