WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Marietta College track and field team competed Sunday (Feb. 14) afternoon at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Elite Meet. The women finished placed in fifth with 45 points, and the men placed 10th with four points.
Laura Pullins (Long Bottom, Ohio/Reedsville Eastern) notched an event win in the women's high jump. Pullins won the event with a jump of 1.63 meters (5'4.25").
The Pioneers had a good showing in the women's pole vault.
Baylee Brown (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) led the way with a second-place finish, with a vault of 3.45 meters (11'3.75"). The vault of 3.45 meters is a personal best for Brown.
Allison Loase (Bethesda, Ohio/Union Local) finished directly behind Brown, with a jump of 3.35 meters (10'11.75"), which set a personal best, for third place honors.
Alexis Pennell (East Canton, Ohio/East Canton) rounded out the pole vault performance with a fifth-place finish, when she cleared a height of 3.25 meters (10'8"), which set a personal best.

Jason Davis said, "Our women pole vaulters were the highlight of the women's side, with all three vaulters earning personal bests."
Kasey Neville (Belington, W.Va./Philip Barbour) tallied a second place finish the women's shot put, when she cleared a distance of 12.45 meters (40'10.25").
Kasey Neville (Belington, W.Va./Philip Barbour) had a solid showing the women's weight throw when she placed third. Neville earned the third-place finish with a throw of 14.58 meters (47'10").
Brooke Huffman (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) added to the weight throw performance when she placed sixth, with a throw of 12.70 meters (41'8").
Lane Wilson (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) notched a sixth-place finish in the men's 800-meter race. Wilson crossed the line in a time of 2:00.73 minutes, which set a personal best time.
Coach Davis added, "Highlight of the day on the men's side was Lane Wilson in the 800. He gets better every week."
Evan Kieffer (Cheswick, Pa. /Fox Chapel Area) earned an eighth-place finish in the men's 400-meter race, when he crossed the line in a time of 53.83 seconds.
Marietta will return to the track Saturday (Feb. 20) when they compete at the University of Mount Union.
