MASON, Ohio — The Marietta College men's tennis team lost a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference matches Saturday (April 11) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center, home of the upcoming OAC Championships. The Pioneers slip to 2-10 overall and 0-4 in conference matches.
Baldwin Wallace University (11-1 overall, 1-0 OAC) defeated the Pioneers 9-0, while Heidelberg University (1-9 overall, 1-3 OAC) notched a 6-3 victory.
Marietta's three team points on the day came from No. 1 doubles team Alex Schaefer and
Tanner Sigman (Winfield, W.Va./Poca), as well as Nos. 3 and 6 singles players
Brendan Adkinson (Bellevue/Bellevue) and
Drew Stone (Davisville, W.Va./Parkersburg).
Schaeffer and Sigman posted an 8-6 win over Heidelberg's Tyler Flickinger and Benjamin Moore. Adkinson was a 6-2, 6-2 winner against Paul Claymier, while Stone beat Andres Isea, 6-1 and 6-1.
