Box Score MARIETTA, Ohio — Ashland University defeated Marietta College by the score of 9-0 Saturday (Mar. 16) afternoon in men's tennis action. The Pioneers fall to 0-1 on the season, while the Eagles improve to 8-0 overall.
Marietta, playing with five players, had to forfeit the No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles matches.
In the No. 1 doubles match, Batsomi Marobela and Tomas Paskauska defeated
Elijah Kuhl (Marietta, Ohio/Wood County Christian (W.Va.)) and
Elivh Perez (Mexico City, Mexico/Preparatoria Abierta), 8-4. George Fazh and
Matthew McIntire (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) fell to Fabian Bussard and Benedikt Weinboerner at No. 2 by the score of 8-0.
Marobela beat Kuhl at No. 1 singles, 6-1 and 6-2. Perez fell to Bussard at No. 2, 6-1 and 6-0. At No. 3, Doug Cree topped McIntire, 6-0 and 6-0.
At No. 4, Gabriel Seminario beat Fazah, 6-0 and 6-1.
David Frazier (Louisville, Ohio/Louisville) lost to Reid Opel at No. 5, 6-0 and 6-1.
Marietta hosts Capital University next Saturday (Mar. 23) at 1:00 p.m.
