MARIETTA, Ohio – Marietta College head women's rowing coach
Kelly Harris announced the hiring of
Anna Talucci as the assistant coach Thursday (Sept. 13) afternoon.
“I couldn't be more thrilled with Anna's decision to join our staff and continue to build upon the success we have seen in the past two year,” Harris said. “It was a highly competitive applicant pool, but Anna was the clear choice. Marietta College is very lucky to have her as a member of our community.”
Talucci spent two years as the head women's rowing coach at Jacksonville University. She led the Dolphins to a conference championship and a third place finish in the varsity 4+ at the Dad Vail.
“I am excited about the opportunity to work with Coach Harris and Marietta Women's Rowing,” Talucci said. “I hope to positively contribute to the upward successful trend that the program has experienced over the past several years. I am enthusiastic about the tone Coach Harris has set with the team and the work ethic that the athletes have demonstrated.”
Prior to Jacksonville, Talucci served as the assistant women's coach for two years at Colgate University and for one season at Temple University. Talucci has also coached with several clubs including the Navesink River Rowing Club, the Wilmington Youth Rowing Association and the Wilmington Rowing Center.
Most recently, Talucci was a senior field staff member with the National Outdoor Leadership School in Lander, Wyoming where she coached students on leadership style and risk management skills.
“Anna brings a wealth of experience in coaching, recruiting and leadership development,” Harris said. “I am excited to work alongside her as we share, develop and implement ideas throughout the year.”
A four-year member of the rowing team at the University of Massachusetts, Talucci served as a co-captain for three years. The Minutewomen were Atlantic-10 champions in each of her seasons on the team and were the Women's Henley College 8 Champions in 2003. Talucci was also a part of the 2002 and 2003 crews that won the Evelyn Bergman Trophy awarded to the women's varsity heavyweight 8+ winners at the Dad Vail Regatta.
Talucci received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Massachusetts in 2003 with a double major in Geography and Earth Systems Science. She earned a Masters of Science Administration from West Chester University in 2005 and a Masters of Arts in Geography from the University of Denver in 2011.
