Women's Rowing races in the Head of the Charles Regatta

CAMBRIDGE, Massachusetts — The Marietta College women's rowing team competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta Sunday (Oct. 19) afternoon. The three-day regatta is contested on the Charles River and covers three miles of water.
 
The Pioneers competed in the women's collegiate 4+ race and finished 32nd out of 40 crews entered. Carleton won the race finishing the course in 18:42.633, 21 seconds ahead of second place William Smith (19:03.667). Marietta posted a time of 21:05.897.
 
Founded in 1965, the Head of the Charles has grown into the world's largest three-day rowing event. Today, more than 12,000 athletes from around the world compete in 73 different race events.
 
Marietta wraps up the fall racing season next Saturday (Oct. 25) at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta in Philadelphia.
