MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women's rowing team opened the spring racing season on the Muskingum River Saturday (Mar. 21) afternoon. The Pioneers hosted Dayton, Mercyhurst, and the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

The Pioneers finished third in the varsity 8+ heats. Dayton won the heat with a time of 6:22.19 with Mercyhurst (6:23.95) and Marietta (6:46.91) rounding out the heat.

Marietta advanced into the B Final where the Navy Blue and White defeated Dayton's 2V crew. Marietta posted a time of 6:41.39 with Dayton crossing in 7:00.40.

Marietta travels to Pittsburgh next Saturday (mar. 28) to race Robert Morris University.
