BETHANY, W.Va. — Marietta College men's tennis stepped out of Ohio Athletic Conference play Monday (April 10) to pick up a 7-2 victory at Bethany College. [

The Pioneers improved to 3-6, while the Bison fell to 2-5 on the season.
Marietta got started on the right track with three straight wins in doubles play.
Teddy Daub (Parkersburg, W.Va./Parkersburg) and
Asher Saperstein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shadyside Academy) won 8-4 at first doubles,
Taimur Ahmed (Islamabad, Pakistan/Froebels International) and
Ryan Wong (Granville/Granville) won 8-2 at second doubles and
Dave Koscielny (Belleville, Mich./Plymouth Christian) and
Ryan Gontero (Kent/Kent Roosevelt) won 8-6 at third doubles.
Daub earned the fourth point with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles. The next three singles points went three sets with
Abdul Sheikh (Columbus/Saint Johnsbury Acad.) clinching the victory with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win at sixth singles. Wong and Ahmed both followed with pro set wins. Wong won 8-3 at fourth singles, while Ahmed won 8-1 at fifth singles.
The Pioneers return to OAC action at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday (April 12) when they visit Capital University.
